SPIRITS WHAT HAVE I DONE. So much for my No More ME f'arts promise..... but I had this idea rolling around in my head and I simply had to do it.
I know that those turian facial markings are tattoos (at least, according the mass effect wikia they are tattoos)..... but I'd like to think that every few months, Garrus, the Turian councilor, poor dead Nihlus and the rest of our fine feathered, I mean plated, friends would get up early in the morning, stretch, preen their fringes, and head straight to the bathroom, holding a battered yet treasured jar of Turigel (comes in Palaveni blue, Invictus Red, Taetrus White and Baetika Cream, and much much more!) and repaint their fading tattoos.... much to the surprise of other aliens that happen to be in the bathroom at the time.
SooooOOoo I'd like to think that they're semi permanent tattoos that need to reapplied every now and then. Just so that I can imagine Garrus doing this. While humming his visor playlist songs in an off-key voice.
edit: I've been getting alot of questions about who the blonde chick is - she is my Shep. The orange haired chick next to Garrus is Kelly Chambers.
Definitely makes more sense for turian markings to be a paint/skin dye that's semi-permanent, allowing for change of clan, banishment etc. How else would politicians end up choosing to go bare-faced?
The weirdest part of this is Jack. I mean I can see Garrus having a morning ruteine of shining his plates and painting on his face paint, but Jack... I bet the only reason she enters a bathroom is too take a dump.
I heard somewhere that Turian markings were warpaint....so I guess it's up for debate.
I like to think it's paint too, since they're supposed to represent the colonies they came from. So repainting it every day would prove their dedication, and if they stopped applying it it would be a sign of disloyalty. Would also explain why "barefaced" Turians are untrustworthy.
Either way, I can totally accept him borrowing the girls' mirror lol
